Default 383 LS1 Jet Boat - finally done! Now with video...

Well…it’s finally done (mostly). All I have left to do is pressure test some the fresh water connections and put the back seat in.

This is my 2nd LS1 swap into a jet boat and this is by far the "cleaner" of the two. You can search my old threads for that if you want.

Specs:
21’ Liberator with Dominator pump
383 LS1
238/244 Hyd. Roller
MTI Stg 3 241 Cast Heads
Yella Terra Rockers
Rewarder Water Injected Through Transom Headers
Edelbrock Performer Intake
850 Carb
MSD 6LS
Closed Cooling System

EDIT: Video and speed from 8/3/11 on the Maumee river in Toledo, OH.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRyGojKq3SI Not what I was hoping for, but truthful:

EDIT: Heater hose ports are now looped with a molded 5/8" to 3/4" hose.

Man. Looks right at home in there. Good work.

You don't have any issues with the heater hose lines completely blocked like that? I thought they needed at least the U hose.

That thing is sick! Im starting my build now, planning on a single turbo EFI setup.

Who's headers are those?
What Oil pan did you use?

That thing is sick bye the way, Im still shopping for a nice boat, I'd love to find a nice tunnel hull.

The headers are made by Rewarder. They have over the transom and through transom water injected headers for LSx motors. Mine are ceramic coated, but you can get chrome if you'd prefer. They aren't priced bad, either.

The oil pan is a stock F-body pan, but with a Canton 90* remote oil filter adapter and an oil drain kit.

I have been back and forth with a turbo motor. I finally decided just to run what I had for now. I would've had to get new pistons for this motor to run FI and I just felt like I had already spent enough on this boat.

As for a tunnel hull; I would call Dave Adams at Liberator in Crowley, Tx. He makes all the Liberator tunnel hulls and he's one helluva nice guy.

Nice build. How fast?????
Btw, I had a 21 Eliminator Daytona that looked identical, guessing Liberator splashed it?

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, i feel ya on the turbo setup... I've spent maybe 20 hours this week searching for more info. Crowley isn't far from me at all, I might have to go over there and see what he's got!

Worse comes to worse, I'll run N/A this season and tinker during the winter!

Thanks a bunch! As for speed - I don't know yet...HOPEFULLY I'll get to test run it this weekend.

Dave said his boat was a little bigger and faster (assuming similar setups of course) than the Eliminator.

I do know the Liberator rides a little smoother...

I had the turbo system all planned out - and then basically just wanted to not break the bank. Plus, honestly, I wanted to have a rough idle boat for at least one season.

Give Dave a call at 817-297-2465 and tell him Zach told you to call.

I'm instructed to give Dave a full performance report. Depending on how it goes, he may start building "factory" LSx powered boats...

Looks real nice. But why not use the oem EFI and make it alot easier on the pocketbook?

Thanks for the kind words guys, hope to have a vid of the boat tomorrow. I will probably either get the chrome coil covers; or do something out of sheetmetal or go with the MSD coils and powdercoat the brackets red.

Replacing the entire fuel system of the boat, buying an ECU/harness, injectors, fuel rails, intake, throttle body, etc was a LOT more expensive than an MSD 6010 and Performer RPM intake.

I may go to EFI at some point...but not for a while.

I meant fuel wise. YES.... it would cost more up front, but I think in the long run, it would pay it for its self. Plus not having to get dirty dialing in the A/F. Remember to get some IN ACTION videos.

So far the best MPH is 70 with 4 people and a cooler. This weekend I'll test with just me.
