Default LsX 4x4 swap

Ive been in the process of swapping a 5.3 into a 1979 chevy scottsdale 4x4. Mated to a turbo 350.

Ive seen somethin about 1.5" set back adapter motor mounts will bolt it so sit at stock small block chevy mounts...

Well thata not the case.. Im about two inches away from the back of the motor and the trans meeting up. Is there anything im missing? Modifications? Or wrong set back mounts?

I used 1/4 plate to make my adapter mounts which also then made the stock mounts for sbc, be a 1/4 off also. Since the motor sat up higher now.

If anyone cAn give me pointers on this it would be great. Havent been able to find much on this swap im doing.

I used the stock mount perches and welded a plate to extend them back enough so I could drill new holes and mount the stock clam shell mounts to them.

I used 1.5" set back plates and its still off quite a bit..about another inch an a half. And this also makes stock center bolts for the mounts not wanna line up
