Default oil pressure sensor adapter

I am using the stock 91 Firebird oil pressure sensor which is 1/4 npt. I am using two adapters, the first is m16-1.5 to 1/2 npt, then 1/2 npt to 1/4 npt. I could not find a m16-1.5 to 1/4 npt adapter. I did find a 1/8 npt adapter and tried to tap it but the metal was too thin.

Everything fits fine but I am concerned about the m16 adapter. Here is a picture:

The thread length is only 2 or 3 threads, maybe 1/4 inch. It came with an o-ring, but I removed it and used copper rtv. I tightened it down well but am wondering if the oil pressure will back it out without more threads.

Any input would be appreciated.

What I did was that the LS1 oil sender, broke off the black plastic parts. Cleaned it up. drilled and tapped for 1/4npt.. then reinstalled it and put on the aftermarket sender.

Cheap adapter and you know its the right threads for the block.

Does the computer not need to see anything from that sensor? Are we talking about the one behind the intake up top?

It's only for oil pressure. The computer doesn't need to get any signals from it at all.

This is the best no-buck way of getting a fitting, been doing this for a long time, works great!

Go to any Parker store and they should have that in stock (bushing reducer from 16x1.5 male to 1/4 NPT female)

I was looking for one that was 16x1.5 to 1/8 NPT, and all they had was the 1/4 NPT.

Can i buy an autometer adapter or just screw the autometer sender into the stock sender location? My harness does not have an oil sender connector.

Depends on you Sender. If the theads match up to the Gen III/IV one. Your good, but most of the Aftermarket senders are NPT thread and the Gen III/IV sender is metric (16mm x 1.5mm)
