I'm slowly gathering up money for an LQ4 build what transmission will work best with 408 TT the 4L80E or the TH350 or TH400 and what are the differences between the three transmissions?

TH350 and TH400 are 3 speed 4L80E is a 4 speed. A TH400 is stronger than a TH350. A 4L80E is essentially a heavier TH400 with overdrive and an electric valve body. As far as which would be best, that depends on what you want to do with the car. I personally wouldn't entertain a TH350 behind a TT 408.

Well its gonna be a street car and track car so basically as you quoted somewhere on this forum a race car with license plates lol but does the 4L80E have overdrive and does the TH400 have overdrive too? on a side note what would be the best option for the TT 408 Lq4 build?

No, a TH400 does not have O/D. The 4L80E adds an overdrive planetary to a TH400 gear set. As far as what is the best option, depends. a TH400 is strong, weighs about 25lbs less than a stock 4L60E (at the converter), and pretty damn cheap to build. A 4L80E is about as strong, but is a lot heavier and more expensive to build. The real question is, do you need overdrive?

80E might be best bet then, it's heavy but built right will handle alot of power.

I just scored a LY6 longblock for pretty cheap, and most-likely have a buyer to take my LT1 stuff. So that leaves me with some questions. Besides the LS1-style T-56, what other 6 speed options are there that will work? I want to go with a T-56 magnum, but I'm guessing that would not have a way to mount the torque arm. Do I just get a trans cross-member that relocates the torque arm off the trans?

The T-56 magnum uses different electronics, although I'm not sure on what's different. Another 6 speed option is the Richmond 6 speed. As far as mounting, you can go to just about any of our suspension vendors and get either a trans crossmember with a torque arm mount on it, or you can do a short torque arm that mounts in place of the factory tunnel brace. I'd recommend Midwest Chassis.

Thanks, you confirmed what I thought.

I'm stuck on the fuel lines. Car getting swapped is a 93 formula. I have the corvette regulator, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to adapt the lines to the regulator. It looks like some people spliced them with rubber fuel line, but is there a better way or is this acceptable?

I just purchased fuel rails for a 97-98 corvette, that way I had a feed and a return all on the rail

Already have an ls6 intake and f body fuel rail. The nylon fuel lines were cut, so I have no quick connect fittings anymore. Im stuck with the next best step.

If I'm not mistaken the plastic lines have a disconnect down where they curve to go under the vehicle

Waiting for my son's baseball season to end so I can get some serious progress made.

Thanks again for all the help from everyone and I should be getting a build thread up soon - would be finished by now but like all things I do I went WAYYYYY overboard! I went all tubular A Arms and powder coated the upper A arm mount to match the UMI ones I purchased along with Koni Shocks and Strano springs. Spohn adjustable torque arm w/ds loop. New braking system from LS car - new EBC brake rotors and pads - stainless steel with teflon coated lines - Had the harness prepped by current performance with Nylabraid etc..... I'll get a build and assembly - tune run thread soon.

For people that have done the LS swap in a 6 speed car what all was needed to get the LS slave to work?

Any of you running LS3 top-ends with Cable throttle bodies? What did you do to mount the cables on the LS3 throttle bodies, and what cables did you use? LS1 brackets don't look like they'll mount. Thanks.

Just in case anyone else runs into this problem, this looks to be the solution
