Depends what comes with it. What are your plans.? NA? LS3 heads? Just run what you buy? I personally wouldn't pay more than $1200.00 IF it was fairly clean. Preferably pull the valve cover and hear it run. I bought my '08 30K-LY6 for $1400.00. The LY6s have gone up since I bought it, but good deals are still there.

I bought an 02 with about half that many miles for $2k a couple years ago. The motor still runs so clean, it's hard to see the oil on the dipstick.

I paid $1150.00 for my LQ9 with 55k on the odometer. It was oil pan to intake manifold including exhaust manifolds. It did not include any accessories or wiring. Mine came from LKQ corp of Tampa and I found it through Car-Part.com.

LKQ has cornered the market. Problem with LKQ is they have a core charge and they usually have no accessories nor brackets.

I went to an independent yard in March of this year and paid $1,300 for my LQ9 but it was a complete motor with wiring harness, accessories, etc.

I personally checked the vin on that Escalade - "vin-N" because I wanted to make sure it was not an LQ4 which is far more common.

So, $700.00 for the engine. Intake to oil pan, no accessories is a good price.

100,098 miles

I scooped up a complete '05 5.3 with 34K miles complete from intake to oil pan for $500 with harness/PCM.

The 6.0 will have more torque/power potential.... gets waaaay worse fuel economy and cost 2-3x the price. If you are on a budget.... don't dismiss the 5.3 setup. They can make good power as well.

Thats a great deal IMO. My old '07 Monte SS 5.3L H.O. was surprisingly quick. That sold me on LS power. Hello LSx swap. lol

I had a 5.3 given to me. I turned it in as a core when I bought my 6.0. In retrospect I would have ran the 5.3 because this 6.0 makes so much power it is overkill for my needs.
