Agreed, your not going to loose hp or tq with running the power steering.

In my 74 i ran the H8/GM Muscle car pan new from the dealership i think im only into the pan/windage,pickup only 150.00 It hangs a an inch below the crossmember but so do the headers.

Wow you really went to town on that intake. Looks nicely cleaned up and smoothed over. Engine paint looks good too. Where are you from? Any emissions requirements for your swap?

An F-body pan will fit by notching about an inch out of the rear of the crossmember, and the oil pan doesn't hang down below the it at all, it's actually a half inch or so higher. If you move the engine back, you wouldn't need to notch anything, but firewall clearance might be an issue. I have a '77 Camaro subframe in my car, the only difference between the '77 Camaro and '77 Nova is the front frame horns are less bulky on the Camaro.

The lines is what is intimidating to me, also on the truck accessories it is places on the bottom drivers side, so unsure if the pump and huge pulley will clear. Lines are my biggest headache...

You can always make your own lines and use a remote reservoir. That's what I'm doing it was probably around $250 or so for a new pump with a windowed pulley, Corvette reservoir, and AN fittings and line. It beats having a big obnoxious loop in your line because its for a different car.

Just an option if youve said screw the budget already haha

it's fairly simple. The pump has a metric fitting for the high-pressure line, while your box is SAE. Or run a 3rd gen camaro quick-ratio box, which is metric, and the HP line from the same application (which should fit).

ok so got ahold of a guy who has a manual box for my car so hopefully it all goes through. I have 4" wide front tires already so handling and ease of turning isn't high on the priority list. it's a creature comfort i can live without It will see highway and dragstrip from time to time so not much curves. plus once it's rolling it shouldnt be a problem.

Going through my engine harness identifying all the plugs, posted a thread about identifying mystery plugs. this is a pain in the butt lol is there a good thread on where you wire in your powers to our "Stand-alone" harness. All ive seen while searching is people saying look at the pinouts and schematics.

Couldn't be any happier with the carshop 1" setback adapter plates. I did have to grind my SBC factory motor mount flat on the side that sits on the mount, and had to notch the passengers side to clear the block. Nothing a angle grinder couldn't fix!

No I just need to get the cherry picker out and set the motor and trans in!!!! Hopefully everything fits.

Woke up this morning and cycled 26mi across 8 Portland bridges. It was an event called the Providence Bridge Pedal. 20,000 people rode on it. Was way cool!



Custom fan shroud it fit my alum. Radiator. Stock '99 silverado 2500 shroud, cut about %50 of the plastic out then plastic welded it how I want, used a propane torch and zipties as filler rod. Id have to say, not too bad for a 20yr old right

NICE! never was a fan of the mid to late 70 cars, but todays economics and the way overinflated price of anything before that (thank you Barrett Jackson! everyone with half a pile of rusted junk thinks it's worth a mint) the future will definetely see more and more of these cars being rodded, and yours is a shining example.

Dropped about $400 on my fuel system today. All braided steel lines and AN fittings. pre and post filters also. along with a Walbro 255 external pump.

Picked up a B&M hammer head shifter, I hope it works with the 4pd 4L80E.

Also picked up a weld in sump for my stock tank.

Now waiting on delivery

what did you use to clean and degrease the engine before you painted it? is that duplicolor engine enamel?

I used "purple power" and "simple green", lots of green scrubby pads, and paper towels to clean the engine. overall is was more dusty then greasy.

The paint i used was VHT i believe, it has a little bit of metallic in there but pics don't show it well. I used duplicolor engine enamel on the intake because it goes on super thick and made a strong, glossy surface.
