I'd build a skidplate or take a little out of that pan.

kwnova9, very nice nova, love how you smoothed out the intake.

I have a 77 I have been wanting to do a very similar swap into for a while now had a motor and trans from a wrecked truck practically drop into my lap today.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering them. Have you tried the truck manifolds? They look like they should fit just fine to me, but it would be nice to know before I start if someone else has used them successfully. Also, I see that you have a cowl hood, any idea how intake clearance would be for a standard hood? I had never thought it would be a problem, but on another forum while doing research someone said it would be too tall for the stock hood, but it seems to fit under fbody hoods so that seems kind of odd to me.

Wow this is a longgggg update. Real story behind why I havent posted since like AUGUST is I forgot my password =[ and for some reason it wouldn't let me recover it....I've been lurking ALOT and been updating my stevesnovasite thread, so to all you at LS1tech, I'll post up PROGRESS!!!

Custom fit shroud made from the stock silverado shroud, still figuring out if i want to run it..

That's right... stock TRUCK manifolds.

This is how the engine will basically look.... currently all the old wiring is gone and i'm finishing up wiring! just need to hook up ground and get my computer back from being tuned.

forming the sump to my tank, ready to be welded

Redid my harness with the help of lt1swap.com

Fuel lines ran

Relay and fusebox I'm using for the harness.

Within the next few weeks I should be able to start it...straight headers, no driveshaft, but hey i'll get to hear her purr!

Thanks! looking back I wish I would have used filler to make it perfectly smooth...

Yes, you have to grind the flanges for them to fit, passenger side has to have 1 of the 3 collector bolts ground off, if it leaks i'll get headers...if it doesn't then AWESOME!

Will fit under stock hood just perfect

My way of bringing the steam line back to the radiator without modifying my aluminum one...

Obviously will look less bulky once the NPT fittings are tightened all the way!

Great build man. It is awesome to see someone using thier brain and brawn to build a car and not just up ending thier wallet! I love the use of the stock mech. fan! I had pondered if it was possible. But the advantages of electric fans swayed my decision.

Can't wait for a full road and track report! Subscribed!
