Default Fuel Injector connection ????

I'm in the process of putting a 2005 5.3 out of a Silverado into my 1979 Landcruiser FJ40. Everything is going well except I ended up with a Flex Fuel Harness. My motor is not Flex Fuel so the connectors will not fit the motor's injectors.

My question.....Should I swap injectors and if I do will that create programing issues? I'm pretty sure I can get the injectors for free. Or should I buy new connectors for the injectors I have now? I'm not looking for tons of power, I'm much more interested in seamless operation.

Thoughts?

Any insight that could be provided will be very much appreciated!!!!

Thanks,
Wayne

Swap out the connectors and have the PCM tune changed to suit your swap

If you plan on big upgrades in the future then swap the injectors over because flex fuel uses slightly larger injectors

Thanks! Are there any issues with tuning for the bigger injectors with no other upgrades?

Tune has to match the injector size or you will be rich/lean depending on how much bigger/smaller they are compared to the tune

You have to tune out VATS for a swap anyways, so resizing the injectors is a minor thing
