Default Project Emmy Lives!!! 1968 Bel Air Wagon L92/6L80E

Here's my build thread.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...r-wagon-3.html

Got her running today. After fighting it all weekend. After a "write entire" with the hp tuners she's running. I don't think the VATS delete took the first time.

Video....

Now I have the issue of not seeing much oil pressure.
It started off as none, engine rattling a little, then she quieted down.
The pressure sensor still seems to be flaky. Then after sometime I started seeing a little more....but only about 10psi at 2000, 25+ at 3000ish, 35ish at 4k(just spiked the rpm).

When i installed the musclecar oil pan, I lubed the oring, fed it on by hand to fully seat it, then put the bolt in. I was extremely careful not to damage the oring. Could I still have screwed it up? Also read about an oil pump pressure relief valve sticking on these engines. Gotta do some more reading. And finally, I am planning on starting with a new oil sending unit. Its not been working for who know when the engine was pulled from the '07 'lade. Maybe inactivity made it take a puke. Thoughts?

Heard many stories of Frams taking out fresh motors.
Never happened to me but I always ran a NAPA which is made by wix.

I just looked up what Summit calls for for the musclecar oil pan...they call for a AC delco PF46. That cross refs to a Fram PH3506. But for the H3 Alpha and Escalade, the PH10060 is called for. Might be onto something.

FYi...
Changed to the AC Delco PF48. PF48 has the relief valve. PF46 same size, no valve.
No change to oil pressure.

I started wiggling the sensor a little and the pressure went from 0 to as high as 75.
I ordered a pressure sensor and it will be here tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.

That wasn't a fluke, you need to do a write entire for the VATS to take.

I'm sure you have a bad sensor. One of the yards I get engines from seems to damage 8 of 10.

Nice wagon. I'm glad to see you got your oil pressure worries worked out.
You wouldn't happen to know where a 61 wagon tailgate is would you?? (Nomad/Impala, Parkwood/BelAir, Brookwood/Biscayne)
I've been looking for 2 years with no luck. It's really the only thing holding up me having a 9 passenger wagon for an every day driver for me & my 4 kids plus my fiance & her 3 kids. LOL

Default Mounts?

Thats a sweet wagon! I have my eyes on a 68 Biscayne coupe that's hopefully going to get a 6.0.

What did you do for the transmission and engine mounts? What did you do for the driveshaft?

Hey I know this is super delayed but I hope you get it and it helps with your project.

I used the 6L80E out of the Escalade that came with my 6.2.
My wagon has two mounting locations for the stock transmission cross member(4-sp/Small block and then big block maybe?). I used the rear most location and made a steel plate with slotted holes to adapt the stock member to the 6L80E. Basically the plate extends the reach of the stock cross members mount brkt. I then used the stock mount that was in good condition from the TH400.

For the driveshaft, I was able to use the larger 1350 yoke from the escalade and adapt it to the stock Bel Air driveshaft using a 1350/1310 conversion u-joint. I also recently upgrade the stock 1310 rear u joint as well.

For engine mounts I think I used energy suspension mounts. I will say this and maybe other people have had issues as well. But I found the mount fit to be a little tight to the block. Ended up having to file a few holes or make them slightly larger with a drill bit. Initially the adapt plate was pulled so tight against the bolts it was rolling threads. I fixed the plate, replace the bolts, and was good to go.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll send you a pm with this info as well.
