Default 4l65 bellhousing what happened?

The bellhousing on my 4l65 out of a Denali isn't lining up with all the holes on my ls2 out of a 06 C6.
The one to the left of center is in but not the one to the right of centre at the top:

And the bottom right that would connect to my retrolsx pan:

I diagram I looked at only used 6 studs and 1 bolt. I've got 7 bolts in that came on the clutch that came with the engine - don't know if that's a problem. I don't know if something went wrong, if I somehow need a different bellhousing, if I should be using studs instead of bolts or if that matters or if someholes just aren't used by some bellhousings.
Any help would be great.
thanks
Scott

What engine was in the Denali? What year of Denali was it out of? On my LQ4 the top bolt is not used, must be a cast iron block thing. I dont have answer for you but would be glad to browse around for one if I knew the year/engine of Denali.

Looks to me like you've got a tranny from a SBC, bolt pattern is the same except for that one bolt hole.

Try using all the other bolts but the top one.

Hey tsnow, I've followed your work. I appreciate the offer. It was a 4wd 05 denali converted over to 2wd. They only had the 6L. The dowels and most other bolts line up. As far as I know there is only one housing for the 65. I doubt if it came off something else.
Jarhead, looks must be decieving butthanks for the input, it was a good thought.

Jimbo you posted while I was typing. The top hole lines up as do 6 other bolts so I have them all in and torqued to 37lbs. I am just missing the one to the right on top and the one on the right side of the oil pan. Maybe its the retrolsx pan.
Are there any other bellhousings other than the early 4l60?
