Nothing sound like a set of 180° headers. You might check out Stahl or some of the circletrack/roadrace header companies. 80's NASCAR cars ran 180° headers on certain tracks and all of the cross over was under the car. A Ford would have a very similar layout to an LS engine. Also I remembered a video on YouTube that has a custom built set on a C5. They would be just right on a 944.

Stahl also still sells a 360° design that is intended to make a V8 sound like a V12. The under pan cross over is nearly identical to the way the 180° under car headers are layed out. A good X will get you most of the sound; but this might take it over the top.
