Default 89 240sx

well i have a build thread going on silviav8 and figured i would start on here since im pretty deep into the build. Although i have hit some major snags.

It all started with an 89 coupe i picked up off craiglist a year ago for $700. i always loved the style of the coupe

Now the major problems. these mounts where made with a stock gto pan. Im using the fueled racing moroso pan. i think in combination with my chassis cross member being a little diff than s14 guys and my oil pan. its not clearing. these mounts have been used with good success in s14 with moroso pan.. mine its not happening

this is the angle my engine sits with these mounts and tranny pushed up all way

engine sits super high.. almost too high. oil pan does not even sit below the sway bar. i also have 1" from pan to top of steering rack. you may think this is not a bad thing but more to come

i thought about slotting the motor mounts since i have so much room to drop the engine down and get hood clearance. but if you look at my motor mounts, the clamshell is resting on the support brace.. I cant slot them, the engine would not drop anymore

I also thought i could slot the mounts to move the engine forward at least a half inch to give the pan to crossmember clearance some room... Cant do that either, i would have to slot it so the bolt would come towards the camera. this is from under back looking forward. theres just not enough space

passenger side same thing, cant slot the hole to drop engine, clamshell is maxed out on mount

so now i have just ordered these

http://carshop.carshopinc.com/produc..._id/86960/2350

I hope i can figure something out and get these either welded up to the stock k member or frame. I suck at welding. So if all else fails ill have to higher someone to come over and do it for me. This should work so that i can position my engine lower and little forward....

Im hoping.. this build has been a fight since the beginning...I just want it to be over with lol
