Default ls1 into 77 t/a cost

i have a 77 t/a and the when i got it the motor was shot. i want to put a ls1/t56 combo. but i do not have the time or technical know how right now, whats rough estimate for how much it would be to bring into a shop and have it intsalled professionally. i also would like to get around 550 to 600 hp out of it with heads, cam, intake, exhaust, etc., also possibly a stroker kit, i know the price for all this will probably be ridiculous but i just want to get a ballpark estimate. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

I'm interested in this also. I have a 81 Z28. I have a 2004 Silverado with a 6.0 LQ9 and 4L80 Trans that will be the donar vehicle. I aint interested in hopping the 6.0 up. 345 HP & 380 Tq is plenty for now. What all will i need to rob off of a Ls1 f body and what do you think the used parts will cost? Can the truck computor be used? Any help is appreiated. Charlton

You're looking at around 12-15grand
my figuring.... 4-5g for pull out set up, 5g for stroker motor and 4-5g for installation
keep in mind there will be extra money for left out and thought of things. I'm doing one right now. But I'm cheaper then a shop lol

it might take twice as long, but do the work yourself and learn on the way. You will save tons of money and gain the knowledge on the way.

around here i think 2-4k for the labor for the install depending on how intensive. (my buddys having an lq4/4l80e put in his 76 camaro)

hard to ballpark because some people get a smokin deal on a pull or dont plan on modding (ctchap70), or dont have to worry about modifying firewalls/trans housings/pedals.

It can be done for as cheap as ~2k in parts (see the budget build sticky), plus the labor for engine install, exhaust, fuel changes, electrical, which can vary but at the same time, when you talk about modding the sky is the limit.
