Default ls1 swap?

ok so i have a 1999 camaro 3.8 and i've been dying for a ls1 but i'm not sure what to do. My question is should i swap a ls1 into my camaro or should i just sell it and buy a ls1 camaro? i wanna go on the cheapest route but i dont know how much a ls1 swap would cost. thanks

I would sell the camaro and buy an ls1 that u like.

If you wanted to do the swap, I think it would be best to buy a wrecked ls1 and swap drivetrain/pcm/wiring etc

yeah thats what i was thinking. its just so much work for the swap that i have no clue how to do. i've been looking all over for a ls1 camaro and i'm hoping i will have one by the summer of 2012. my price limit is $5000 so maybe i can come across one over winter time. thanks for ur opinion dude

Unless you know someone that can help you, I wouldn't attempt a swap if I didn't know that much yet. The advantage in doing a swap is that it would make a heads/cam swap a lot easier while the motor is out.
