Default LS2 cam ? for my turbo 4.8 build

I was wondering if a LS2 cam would be a decent upgrade for my turbo 4.8 that I'm building for my 74' Datsun 260z ? I know the LS6 cam would be best but I was just wondering cause they're abundant, cheap, and just a little smaller than the LS6.

It wouldn't be bad, but the LS6 cam would be ideal. I bought my 02+ LS6 cam from a member on here for around $130 shipped.

I though maybe I can get that for now and upgrade later ! I don't know how difficult it'll be to change a cam in my z yet.

If you already have an ls2 cam, then just do that. But if you don't have one yet, you might as well do it right the first time and get the LS6 cam and valve springs.

That is what I thought, at least lift and duration wise

Here is a pretty good article comparing all the cams. Says the LS2 is actually superior to the LS6, on a 5.3 anyway

Make sure you upgrade the valve springs no matter what cam you use

I ended up going with a 04 Z06 cam with 799 valve springs in 241 heads. Its already installed in my 4.8 so I'll consider it a huge improvement over stock. I haven't started the engine yet but its coming soon.
