Default Jax04--88'rx7---88mm?---L33--PowerGlide---8.8"--v1.0

Im not Sure how many of you Frequent the FI section so i decided to post this over here, plus i know ill have some quesitons that you guys will help way better with. Any way without further BS from me. Here you are

Well, the last project has bored me, the Front Mount TC78 GTO build, ive decided after following the conversion section and talking with a guy on here about his FC, i was going to build one of these cars to compete in a local drag class. weather it be bracket, 9, 10, or 11, or maybe even true street, i knew i needed some experience and time behind the wheel.

So with that said, enter the 1988 mazda RX7 roller, input, (for starters and just getting to the track) 370ci, PowerGlide and ford 8.8 and some kind of an 88mm turbo.

End goal, sub 3000lb with driver and alot of fun.

here are a couple pics,

Not a ton to update on, Basically been figuring out the motor situation, getting the engine bay ready for paint treatment so i can really start making some progress, I hope to have it painted this evening, and begin the wiring tomorrow or Sunday.

Ive still got the 4l80e that i had bought to rebuild with HD frictions and Jakes Shift kit. Im going to go ahead and pay a Transmission guy i know to re assemble it, then put it up for sale. Not sure what to ask for it, but ill hope to get something out of it.

Anyway, heres the glide and stall converter, Cant wait to play with the transbrake! Its going to be fun

Got some stuff done yesterday with the help of a friend, David (Needls1Bad), engine bay is prepped with Paint, interior is ready to be worked on now, HVAC stuff is gone for good and im ready to drop the motor and start the painful wiring process. That should begin in a couple weeks, i need to go down to Louisville to drop off the 80e so that i can purchase the new bullet.

ANyway, quick couple pics.

Alrighty then, My father in law is dropping off the engine hoist tonight, im gonna drop the engine in tonight or tomorrow or something then start fabrication on the new turbokit and wiring.

After im done doing the Mock up and such, this is getting sent off to Jose for a small upgrade. HP88.

This got here today

The new turbo kit, Pieces, lol

The new snail, For now

i think its time to start building some stuff now

What's up Jax, I'm in for the pain.

How are you mounting the motor in the chassis? Hinson-made pieces?

Yes sir, they are Hinson Mount pieces. I did not get them from Hinson though. I got them second hand

Yep, your engine bay looks sharp. I've got a pipe dream that maybe someday i'll drop my stock LS2 and t-56 in a FC chassis to serve as a dedicated road track car, once i've put the lsx I'm planning on in the goat. So be very thorough with the pics!

its all mild for this build. I get all my mandrel bent pipes from mandrel bends dot com (columbia river mandrel bends)

They offer stainless as well, up to 4". Good prices to boot. When it comes to pre made merges, i like cone engineering alot.

I plan to start making some progress with the turbo kit very soon, next couple days anyway. Gonna have to make a mock up radiator, ill be re using my IC form my previous GTO build.

yep, i use stainless for builds at the moment, because im not very good at fabricating, and dont want to waste money on mild until im comfortable with my skills.

I didnt buy a merge for this product becuase i want to attempt to make my own, a long one, probably about 10-12" tall from two 2.25" pipes.

I have never done this, so its going to take some time to get it right for me. Im thinking ill just trim the sides out of the up pipes and tack them together and pull them out square and trim to fit them inside the T6 flange, but who knows, ill get it. LOL. Im not very good with a saw and welder, lol
