Default Oil pan Q, how low can you go?!

Cliffs:
I want to slim my GTO oil pan at the back end near the bell housing to keep the engine low, how thin can I make the pan....I will of course leave an angle for oil return.

I want to keep my engine cross member in a stock location, currently I have it lowered 1.5" to accomadate factory exhaust headers and cats
Using the factory setup is not going to happen w/o cutting into the fire wall, I thought I had it sorted with a double joint steering shaft u-joint-but I'm not happy with it.

I can get away with vette headers, (c5 I think-the little ones) but I'll have to face them forward and I think re routing the exhaust back is going to choke the engine a bit on the drivers side.

Any one know what the minimum depth is at the back of a GTO oil pan?

TIA, I really need to get offa my buttocks and get this project done

Super bean , the GTO oil pan is front sump and I have one-well a modified one that,s begging the question, how thin can I get at about 2/3'ds the way back to the bell housing? And will I clear the steering rack and not cause any un-forseen issues if I'm thinned up about an inch?!
