Default s10 trans crossmember question.

Just wondering if anyone has used a g-body trans crossmember in a 2wd s10. I know the s10 was based off the el camino suspension, just don't know what else is close or the same between the two. I was thinking of picking up the aftermarket double hump members so it's easier and cleaner when running the exhaust. I know it wouldn't just bolt in. If I have to drill new holes or shorten it, it's ok.

The S10 is narrower..I've been comparing the two since I've done my S10 Swap.

What trans are you running? The G-body memeber will not work due to the s-10 being to narrow. But G-force does offer one for the s-10. But it will only fit the auto transmissions. Not the T-56. I personally built one out of heavy guage tube steel. And made the exhaust pass through my crossmember. Below are some of pictures of what I built.

Narrower is ok with me. Just cut it down to fit.

My truck was a 4.3/5 speed truck so the stock crossmember worked fine when I mounted my 4l60. I would run one side of the exhaust over the crossmember and the other side under it...there is plenty of room.

The setup is a cammed lm7 with a f-body 4l60e. I'll check out G-Force's website. See what they got.
