Exclamation Chevy II 5.3 conversion.

I need help or opinions if im going in the right way. Please do let me know your thoughts.

The car is a 63 Chevy II. The car is currently using a 421 SBC, 4.10 Gears , TH350 /4500 Converter full race set up. Running mid 10´s.

I want to go to a more street friendly set up as the cost of race gas is up high. I know I will end up runing slower

But the plans are follow.

5.3 from a 2006 truck.
Ms3 cam / with upgrade springs and push rods.
Edelbrock EFI victor Jr intake
Stock PCM mod with HP Tunners.
• One of the two options below.
1- Edelbrock elbow and 90 mm Throttle body.
2- Edelbrock Competition 4-Barrel Throttle Body rate at 1000 CFM.
42 lbs injectors.

- How fast will i run? can i be abble to tune this?

Please opinions are welcome !!

Cheers, Leon.

I'm running a 5.3 with a MS3 cam and 750carb, on pump gas. Runs low 11's n/a and low 10's with a 150 shot. This is in a 3000# mustang so I don't think you will have any problems reaching your goals.

Thanks 78supersport for your answer.
I was thinkin on the MS3 being too big for the 5.3. but after i read your post I was surprice how hard your car goes. I will replicate almostb your build.

Beautiful car, Snolan! Did you have a build thread on here? I'd like some more details on your car...

Looks like a fun build! Why the 5.3? Go with a 6.0 truck block and you could get into the 10s.

The 5.3 Idea came because a friend give the engine. but now I have a 6.0.

What will be the basic mods to get a 6.0 truck block in to the 10`s ?
