Cable x box --will it work will a cable x box work with a 4l60e in a 81 trans am. also how well do these work or would be better to get part from S&P that replace tail piece on trans to allow gear for speedo

The cable X will work with a 60e in an 81 trans am. I haven`t used it or the s&p modified tailhousing. I thought the tailhousing adapter was more expensive. From the comments I have seen it seems like most people who used the cable X were happy although a couple mentioned it sometimes lags for a second on heavy acceleration. Haven`t read too many comments on the tailhousing adapter.
