Summit has it for $855 but I saw it at Jegs for $700 something.

Thank you Jimbo! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, if you could scoop a 4 wheel disc kit up for $700 that would be a screamin' deal! And save a lot of time hunting as well!

Hookem, I also wanted to question you on running a 4L80E in your Nova. How did handle shift controls and column indicator? I'm starting early research on swapping to an OD trans. Thanks!
Also, do you still have the drum brake hubs? I'd love to buy those off of you if so...

I used a B&M Quicksilver shifter, but had been running a floor shifter for more than a decade. The column has a hole somewhere along it inside the engine compartment. I stuck a bolt in it back when I first swapped to a floor shifter to keep it from rattling, though I'd love to replace the entire thing. I left the gear indicator showing park, but have since replaced the cluster with aftermarket gauges.

Ah, I see. I am just doing research for a future swap to a 4L60/80E with a column shift. Thank you.
And yes I do still have my front spindles and hubs and I’d be happy to get them outta my garage! I will PM you.

Hey cruisin'73, be sure to check out the Hooker LS swap engine mounts and transmission crossmembers as part of your 4L60/4L80 swap research. The Hooker 4L60-75 specific crossmember has been available since the beginning of the year and a 4L80 specific crossmember has made it through the CAD design and FEA analysis portion of development and will soon be heading to production. Both of these crossmembers work with the related Hooker engine mounts to offer optimized U-joint working angles and higher ground clearance than is typical with these cars.

Yes we sure did! Everyone say hello to the next generation of gearhead! Wyatt Griffin joined us 6 weeks ago. And Mom, baby and daddy are all healthy and happy! He is cute as a button and already a pro at all baby activities; feeding, pooping, playing, crying, pooping, sleeping, pooping. Haha, we are pretty head over heels for our little dude!
Its tough to get much garage time cause who wouldn’t wanna snuggle with this little dude! And our house has been turning into a halfway house since he was born. Mothers, fathers, Sisters, Friends, Grandmas. Everyone has been over to meet Wyatt! So ya, not much time for my four wheeled baby! Thanks for asking Bandit!
However, on the note of progress. I have decided I have had my fun with carb tuning and will be swapping over to EFI over the winter. Along with also welding in some subframe connectors and 3.42s or 3.73s and a posi outback. So keep checking in for progress!

Great pictures of the baby. My son that you met is now 10 years old and just started 5th grade. People always say that the time goes fast, and they are usually right

im new to this site but im in for a L33 5.3 install. Tranny is a 4L65E. all going into a solid texas car, 76 skylark hatchback. just got thru rebuilding another subframe with all new bushings & ball joints. bought adjustable motor plates that accepts sbc motor mounts. car still a roller for now as i sold the 355 chevy that was in it. have fresh aluminum headed 383/700r4 combo ready for it but changed my mind last minute.bought motor tranny used but got to figure out wiring harness as i have 06 silverado wiring came with motor. thinking about modifying stock tank with a factory silverado pump set up. Bad idea? I already changed out rearend from the baby 10 bolt to 8.5 10 bolt 3;23 gear posi unit from 70's camaro. I get more pics soon. any good advice appreciated on wiring/fuel set ups. thanks Richard

Thanks guys! I'm really loving this dad thing! Yesterday morning I took wyatt so mommy could sleep and we watched Roadkill together. Well really I held him while he slept and I tried not to laugh out loud and wake him up!
76' welcome to LS1Tech! My advice is to do lots of research here, and keep asking questions. It sounds like you are on the right track so far. There is a ton to learn, but you are in the right place. Now start a build thread and get some pics up here for us! Also check out Hooem devils X-body thread. He has made links to a lot of the Nova builds here. Including some Disco gen Novas like yours. Good luck!

So did you decide what your winter projects are going to be on the car? I'm going to put a new rear end in with 3.08 gears and the 4 wheel disk brake kit. If I have time to spare I may swap the cam out, but I doubt I will have the motivation with the way this winter is starting so far. It could be a long cold one. ha ha.

Hey Slim! Glad to hear you are continuing to make headway on the Camaro. I would say for sure do the cam swap! even on my NA 5.3 that 224 cam took the engine from "oh ya thats fun" to "Would ya look at that, I'm merging onto the freeway at 110" If I was still in WI I would come over and we could have a new cam, pushrods, timeing chain, oil pump and valves on in 1 afternoon. DO IT!
The EFI swap is coming along well, but learning to be a dad doesn't leave much time for the Nova! But I have compiled the parts lists and an starting to get goodies coming in! The EFI and learning to use HPtuners is going to be the main focus of the winter. But I also am keeping several other projects in the wings and ready to be tackled should I have time:
-X-pipe install
-Tailpipe install
-Shift kit for my TH350
-17"/18" wheels and tires
-Subframe connectors
I am hoping to get a big chunk of progress done soon and will make a post.
