Default Team Z/LSx swap Kmember

Just talked to Team Z and they said they just finished the Kmember with mounts for the LSx motor. He said the complete Kmember with A-arms and coilover kit was like $739, and I think the mounts were another $89?? I ask him about headers and he said the Dynatech were jigged around his Kmember. I called Dynatech to confirm and talked to Don. He said NO they would not fit at first, only AJE and PA. I said well this is a new Kmember so can you check a little deeper? He came back and said well it shows it will fit but our headers were NOT jigged around the Team Z. I really like TZ stuff and this might be another option. Ive never used AJE but have heard of fitment issues and A-arm issues.

FWIW, when I talked to him at SGMP, he said his k member was built around a set of dynatechs. Maybe he mis-worded what he was saying. He was still working on the mounts then also. He does have great stuff for the stangs though.

Nothing wrong with the Dynatech's. Some people could screw up a cold glass of water installing them.

All that is needed for the steering shaft is move the nuckle all the way to the firewall.

I talked with Team Z today they designed the mounts for their k member.

Headers should not be a issue

Older thread I know, but still have a question. Anyone running Kooks with the Team-Z K-member? Came across a set of used Kooks for a good price. Just curious if anyone is using them.

Why is this? I have heard/read nothing but good things about the craftsmanship, welds and overall fit of the TZ... I ordering one in a few weeks so I'm a little curious....

He designed the kmember useing a Morose oil pan and now the Ls fbody oil pan don`t fit........the truck pan hangs to low.........the cts-v pan don`t fit........so now you guys with the Team Z k-members with the LS mounts have to buy the $500 Moroso oil pan that he designed it with or cut and weld a GM pan.

I had a Team Z K in my old fox, it fit well but caused all sorts of tire clearance issues that weren't there with the stock K - same wheel/tire/brake combo and everything. It rubbed the fender lips like crazy when turning.
Their suggested fix was to spend more $ on some narrowed control arms when IMO the K should have been a bolt on affair.
Sold the car and I'll never give them another dime of my $.

Thats the case no matter what K-member you use

Has anyone confirmed that?

So about $200 or so more than what it would cost you to put a stock F-body pan on. Then you have a K-member that is far superior in build quality, excellent customer support, and also have an oil pan that is MUCH better than a stock F-body pan. Wow we are screwed aren't we!! lol

Also take into consideration the thread count of the people slamming a certain product. You can research their other posts and get an idea of what you are getting from them.

the team Z K-member is one of the best ones out there...
even if it has some oil pan fittment issues...but name me one k-member that works with everything... there isnt one

Just remember.... the K-member didnt come from the Ford/GM Factory, it wasnt designed to work with everything...
this makes it Custom

Custom Car, Custom Problems
if you cant remember this phrase, and you arent prepared to deal with it...then you shouldnt mod a car.

Have all team z parts on both of my cars and couldn't be happier! Fit/finish/quality is all perfect! Same can't be said about AJE, I bought one of there trans mounts and IMO the quality on that thing is JUNK, I will never buy from AJE again. I had to modify the trans mount to get it to even fit the car! I'm using a moroso 20141 oil pan with my team z K-member and the fit on it is perfect!

Perhaps this will help you understand why to stay away from anything AJE

AJE IS JUNK
