Default Corvette accessories?????

#1

I believe these accessories come on a Corvette engine but I don't know which one so I am looking for a little help on identifying which on & I need to know will they fit on a 5.3L engine? If so what all do I need for the conversion? My plan is to get rid of the truck accessories & to put my 5.3 with the 4L60E bolted on in my g-body Cutlass without having to cut any parts of the frame or have any pulleys interfering with other parts in the engine bay. I read a lot about the power steering pump pulley hitting the steering box & I want to avoid that so I think this will help everything clear.

This set up is another one I was looking at.

I'm not sure if the alternator will clear or not on this one when installed in a gbody.

Let me know which set up you guys think would be better for my application.

Default vette accessories

The first picture looks exactly like my 2007 LS2 Corvette engine, I had a 2002 LS1 Corvette engine and it looked the same also.

Here is the setup from an 09 LS3 Vette. I removed the PS pump reservoir. I'm putting this in my 72 Corvette. Ihad to use a smaller PS pump pulley in order to clear the upper control arm.

The first picture is the vette accesories but it has a fbody pump on it. The vette pulley looks like a normal pulley not the bubble. I just got my vette accesories yesterday and ordered the balancer and pump

Hey, that's my motor! FWIW, it's a completely stock '03 C-5 motor I got off E-Bay.

No, definitely NOT an F-Body pump, where's you get that idea ? ? ? Just because the '05+ pumps had a windowed pulley?

Here is a short list of parts i need. I want to get rid of the truck accessories & go with these parts that will give me more room & hood clearance.

Ls1 intake bolts
I'm looking for a water pump with bolts & tensioner
balancer with bolt
Power steering & alternator bracket with bolts
power steering pump with bolts & reservoir

I know I'm forgetting some things but I pretty much need the complete front setup off of a Vette. Let me know what you have!

for gbodys you should prob use the fbody accessories, which is #3 in your pictures, with 1" setbacks, you may still have to notch the frame if you want to keep ac or youll need a relocation bracket for that, in fact I think pict #3 has the relocation bracket on it, which mounts the ac up high, so you dont have to notch the frame... so the same setup as #3

and heres a little info to help speed it along

The engine in the 1st post (my engine) has an S&P a/c relocation kit that mounts a Sanden pump 2" closer and 2" forward from stock. It rolls on the main serp belt track instead of the rear track. Prolly not obvious as I turned the idler pulleys in my lathe and painted everything black so it'd look stock...

Here's a head-on before shot:

Gordon,

What is the part number for the smaller power steering pump pulley? I'm having the same issue on my 68 Camaro. BTW, are you the same gordonm that gave me that weiand intake years ago on the Corvette Forum?

Thanks.

The corvette acc. drive is basically the same from 97-current. There are some different parts used throughout the years but the layout is the same. I have corvette acc drive on my 5.3L that is in my chevelle.

Hands-down, go with Corvette accessories.

I used this kit on my 84 Monte, it fits great and the price is right. You'd be hard-pressed to replicate it for any less money with used parts.

Also, get the current LS3 Vette water pump, if you look at my installed pic versus the one from Pace, it has the outlet on the DS of the car, so your upper hose will be shorter. It is also a few pounds lighter than prior pumps.

I just upgraded to a fluidampr and have a corvette crank balancer sitting around now, if you're interested. PM me with a reasonable offer. It fits gmpp 19155067, as pictured above. The OE crank bolt is torque to yield, so you'll need to get a new one (pref. ARP or equivalent)

What water pump are you using on that engine? the outlet is on the drivers side not the passenger side...
