Default going from 58x4x to 24x1x

I know this as been asked a million times, but could not find it with a search, so ill ask again.
Getting ready to put new motor in car and ran into some questions?
Car is a 99 firebird w orginal 5.7 in it. I going to a new 6.2l block, Crank is a 24 tooth.
Is there a sensor for a 1x cam that goes into the front cover? Like early LS2?
Anybody know the part #/
I know about the adaptor box from LPE, but i dont really want to run anything i dont have to. Motor is still out of the car so changing things are not a big deal.
Thanks in advanced
Dave

Sweet write-up thanks alot.
Just to be sure the gray cam sensor will read the 1x cam gear and the ls1 computer will read it.
