Default Carb Advice

Building a carb'd Ly6 for my 69 C10. Undecided on cam, but it will be good size. I was planning to buy a 770 Street Avenger since I am no carb tuner. My previous engine had a 650 DP, which I have up for sale. Gentleman offered to trade me his 750 vac secondary 4160 as it is too large for his combo.

I'm pretty carb dumb, which is why I was looking at the Street Avenger. But this is tempting and saves a good chunk of my budget. Is the 4160 user friendly enough or should I spend the money on a Street Avenger?

You might get more responses if you post this in the carb forum.

Not sure if I had seen anyone post a combo with a 4160 carb on an LS motor. LS motors do seem to need a slightly different carb tune than the first gen motors. Especially if you use a single plane intake. I have seen people post good results with bolt and go street avengers though. The HP carbs are also a good LS fit, but $$$

You know a 4160 carb is a good bit less expensive than a 650 DP. Seems like you should get a few extras with the trade.
