Default exhaust manifold help 64 chevelle ls1

I am new to this site and starting out swapping an ls1/4l60e into my 64 chevelle. I have read that the best exhaust manifold to use is the 98-02 F body. But I can get some 2010-2011 Camaro exhaust manifolds cheap. Will these fit or has anybody tried it yet. Appreciate the help.

I couldnt get F-body manifolds to fit, especially the drivers side. I ended up using some Hooker swap headers. I heard 98-02 f-body long tube headers will work if you can fab an exhaust to deal with the funky drivers side kick out.

I have a 64 SS chevelle. I could not get the truck exhaust to fit on either side, but the 98-02 fbody manifolds fit very good.

I have also wondered if the new camaro manifolds would fit and will be watching this thread to see the result.

Also hear newer Camaro LS3 (L99) manifolds will fit well. I have a set but not to the point on my project to confirm if they fit on not.

Hope this works, Im trying to upoad some pictures. I used a Street and Performance modified pan, hooker adapter plates ( stock location) and my original frame mounts. I seem to have clearance everywhere. except the trans tunnel. Where's the hammer. i am trying to give the front end some weight when measuring my trans angle.

Post up if the newer manifolds fit well. I read that the fbody manis worked for A body cars.

Default 2010-2011 camaro manifolds

Well I finally got to try the 2010-2011 Camaro exhaust manifolds on my 64 chevelle. Although they bolt up and clear the frame, they will not clear the lower control arm mount. since the exhaust is a straight down, there is no room for the pipe to attach. Hopefully you can see in the pictures. I am using the Hooker adapter plates in the stock location, if your engine is farther forward than mine, it might just work. I have heard about and seen video of the new Hooker cast exhaust manifolds. They look good, have 2 3/4" clearance ( from flange to outermost part of manifold) and are supposed to released later this month. No pricing yet. But i think that may be my next attempt.

Default manifolds

Oh yeah, i forgot to say that the Ls1 and lq4 manifold does fit and clear but blocks the O2 sensor on the drivers side. I tried 4 different set of manifolds. Hope this info helps somebody.

I am working on a 67 Lemans swap and from what I have read I think the S&P shorty headers are about our best bet for early A bodies as far as clearance issues go. I was hoping to use the 2010 Camaro manifolds that came with my motor also but by looking at it I figured I would run into the same problem you have. I really want longtubs but with Edelbrock out of the picture and the issues I have read about floor pan clearance with others im thinking S&P.

I put a plug in the drivers side 98-02 f-body manifold O2 sensor location and will put the sensor in the exhaust pipe like is done for the truck engines.
