Default VSS output to original speedo

Does anyone know if the VSS 4K output from the LSx ecu will operate the factory speedo in a 93 camaro, or will I need a signal modifier like the dakota digital box. I was hoping to not have to run a full set of standalone gauges as well.

I'm pretty sure it will work without mods.

The stock speedometer needs a DC square wave, 4000 pulses per mile, so it will work good
