Default Why? lS1 oil pan, heads WONDERING

I have wondered, so thought I would ask? Why is the bat wing oil pan not used in swaps. It seems to be as shallow as the front of ... F body cut and conversion pans. I haven't done much research on this, that why I'm asking. HELP

Second question on the 5.7 LS1 heads that were built in 2004. Are there any difference in the port size than the earlier model heads. If so what's the difference?

I'm using a batwing on my 68 corvette 6.0 swap.
The pan got a bad reputation for oil starvation at high g loads in C5s. Well that and the $700 list price.

The Corvette batwing pan will interfere with your steering linkage.
