Default New guy to forum 54gmc ls1 4l60e

The truck is a 1954 gmc truck body on a s10 frame bagged to lay frame. I just recently bought a 99 ls1 4l60e out on a camaro/trans am came with wiring harness slightly cut up and computer. I have never done a fuel injected motor, not much of a computer guy so bare with me please!
Could use some help figuring out what things are or what I'm missing.
First thing would be the device on the back of the intake manifold that has a wire plug and hose going to it? Do I need this not running emissions or a/c .
Thanks will post pics and cheers

The pic with your finger is the oil pressure sensor. The back one I thought was the map sensor. But the brake booster goes there too...? Ik it's been covered. Just search for it

Thank you guys for your help i will keep posting up progress pics. I am a firefighter so I will have to take things a little slower than would like to. Can anyone see any potential problems with the setup at all or any suggestion that you would change. I am running a b and m ratchet shifter looking to do a shift kit I have seen the trans go kits what one would you run?

These motors run mechanical gauges or electronic ?

Thanks, I enjoy working on it. Let me know if you have any questions. This is a good forum for engine and transmission questions. I would recommend using the advance search feature on the board. This is how I find a lot of information regarding my engine and trans. You will also find specific forums for transmission, etc.

It looks as if, in the first pic, the brake booster port is broke off and may render the intake useless if you cannot replace or repair it. Not sure on the tranny. The choice is yours on the gauges. I use a Scan Gauge II to monitor speed, water temp, voltage, and rpm. The Scan Gauge II uses the OBDII port to monitor these parameters and can be used for alot of different measurements. It will only display four at a time though. It is also able to check for trouble codes and remove them all at the same time. Call me old fashioned but I like a mechanical gauge for the oil pressure. I trust in Autometer and I have used them for years.
