Default 68-72 A-body Wheels and tires

I searched around and there are a lot of invididual build pages that have wheels on them, but can anyone list their wheel/tire combos on 68-72 A-bodies?

I'm personally looking for 17" wheels but dont' know what backspacing to use and/or what looks good or what tire width would be good. Obviously 275s would look nice out back, but if we can have a few people chime in with what they're running and maybe a pic or two, I think this would be a great thread for anyone in the future.

Thanks guys
jim

There is a thread over on chevelles.com called something like 'wheel and tire database' (I think it's a sticky) that has a lot of info in it.

245/45x17 on 17x8
275/40/17 on 17x9
American torque thrust "M" can't recall the back space.
I plan to try the 275 in the front and go to a 315 in the rear. Still trying to decide on wheels. Most likely 18x9 front and 18x10 rear.

Does anyone care to post pictures? I'm thinking the same thing as old goat. 245/45/17s up front and 275/40/17s out back.
Looks like the majority here (and on performanceyears and chevelles.com) are running 4.5" backspacing.

Now to figure out what wheels to choose. Does anyone have pics of their wheels they'd like to post?

^^^^ Wow, I painted my Chevelle 2 tone about 7 years ago and it was the only one. Now they are popping up everywhere. Love the grey and silver bczee. I also restored a '71 for my stepfather and painted it the same way but used dark and light metallic blue. Did that one in '07.

I still drop by every now and then. Not much going on with the car. Did some 1/4 mile passes last weekend and installing a Tick clutch master cylinder. Have a 3 month old at home so that's taking my time and $$$.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
