Just bought a 79 Trans am, and I'm trying to plan what all im goin to do. It came with 403 olds motor but I definitely want to go with efi on this project. I need to no what all I need to do as I change everything to accommodate new Ls engine. I'm shootn for the 7-800 hp range, so which of the Ls's is cheapest nd easiest to achieve(Ls 1,3,6?). I can't decide on twin turbos or supercharger, and I've been looking at vvt. Anybody have any good luck installing vvt on one of these engines.?

I've got a pretty similar swap to yours. were doing an LS2 auto swap/resto on a 79 Z28 camaro. in the early stages as we have the pullout and just started ordering parts.

I've got no experience with the LS3, LS7 but if it were me and your wanting to do some sort of FI on your build, I would recommend doing something along the lines of a nice 6.0L build since they are a fairly cheap and stout platform to start with

Did mine and love it..... just recently finished a 4l60/t56 swap.... also new cam, heads, intake.... just needs a tune again.....

What radiator and hoses did you use? Inlet/outlet diameters? Anymore pics of the 77? Looks killer.

I used summit 'Swap in a box' and so far so good.

not too complicated 7/10 for difficulty
