Default 05 5.3 fuel rail question

Tomorrow I will be doing the first test fit of the engine and tranny in my 71 Chevelle. I was looking at the fuel rail and noticed it appears not to have a return line on it. The 2000 model 5.3 i originally was going to put in had both provisions. Am i looking at this wrong or is it a returnless system that i can use the vette fpr set up on?

I believe I have found the info I needed and it appears it is indeed a returnless fuel system. However after reading all of the forums and posts on the net i am unclear as to wether or not it has AFM. Some say yes some say no and the engine identification sticky on here says it does not have AFM. Can anyone clarify this for me? It is not a vin Z engine so its not flex fuel but it is dbw.

Your motor will be returnless rails. Use the vette FPR/filter.

And will NOT have AFM or VVT. The 2007 up Gen IV motors have those provision. No 99-2006 Gen III truck motor has them. Note: there were carry over trucks with Gen III's used on classic GMT800 truck in the 2007 model year and were 2007 trucks.

Thanks BO185! Actually it was a post of yours on a corn binder site that gave me the info on the returnless fuel system. And thanks for clearing up the AFM/VVT issue for me.
