So i bought a 6.0 yesterday for my firebird that was supposed to be an 02 model engine. Paid $650 for complete engine and its supposed to have only 89k on it. Turns out it is a 99 or 00 model engine. I know from what i have found on other threads that the crank is longer and wont work with 4l60e, but all the threads i have found are from several years ago. My question is whether there is anyone who makes a readily available stall converter that doesnt cost $1,000 or if it will need to be specially made. I am on a tight budget, i dont need a stall right now but eventually would like to put a cam in this engine so if i have to buy a converter i will get one with higher stall. Or could i just change the crank? If i change the crank which fly wheel and starter would i need. I am new to the ls world and this is going to be a daily driver so i dont need the best of the best, but i dont want cheap crap that i will have to change again later. Thanks for any advice.
