Default 91 240sx..5.3l/4l80e swap

Figured id start one of these since i am getting closer to getting it on the road. It's a 91 240sx that i have put a lot of work into, always planned on doing the swap but just took some time.

Picked up the car in Jan of 09 for 300 bucks from a buddy of mine that ran a tow yard. Car definitely needed some work but the frame wasn't bent and i wanted something new so i figured i would save this from going to the jyard.

Here is how she looked the day i picked it up..

Started on the body work and wanted to get the car one color..

Picked up some Origin Lab type 2 50mm rear overfenders and a set of fr500 replica wheels. 17x9 in the front 17x10.5 in the rear..

Ran out of daylight though so it will have to be pulled one more time to do a little more firewall massaging.

Got the motor in its final spot, put the accessories on, and did a few other odds and ends.

Motor positioning looks good for having a 4l80e behind it!

Thanks. Yeah we had to put it in, remove, then beat the firewall/trans tunnel a good 4-5 times. Haha. But it fits pretty good now.

Looking to do something similar to this but with a bigger engine. What are you doing for headers?

Be prepared to beat the living **** out of the trans tunnel and cut out the stock trans mounting points if your planing on the 4l80e as well. Literally had to put it in, see if it fit, then take it out and beat again like 5-6 times. Going with c6 ls2 manifolds for the moment (plan on either doing a turbo setup or longtubes eventually) then 3" on back.

Haven't updated this in quite a while. Finally getting around to installing the turbo/cam/q45 diff, etc..

Shout out to JMB performance for the stainless work on my hot side/cold side and exhaust setup. BOV will be getting powdercoated black as the red just stands out too much.
