Hummer 3\GMPP oil pan

Hummer 3\GMPP oil pan
I am about to toss my truck oil pan and get something else with a little more clearance. CTS-V pans are hard to come by but the aforementioned pan seems like a decent deal. Has anyone with an A-body used this pan, what about the Holley pan?

Keep in mind my car is still in the build stages, but I had the Hummer pan on my 71 Chevelle and it hung to low below the x-member for my comfort. I sent my f-body pan to S&P to be modified but havent got the engine back in the frame yet because its leaned up against the wall waiting to be assembled when the body work is done. Before I took the engine out I got the measurements for the mod. f pan and measured my engine/frame and I am 99% sure it is going to fit well and be tucked up behind the x-member. I have heard others say the holley fits ok but I had the fpan already and it was cheaper to just get it modified. Hope this helps.

I would not recommend a Hummer / H3 / Muscle Car pan (all the same).. it will hang too low.. I have the CTS-V in my Chevelle.. I am putthing a RetroLS / Holley pan in my 71 Nova right now. For a Chevelle, it would be a easy fit. The Mast is about the same configuration as the Holley.

Yes they do but they hit you with a core charge, which in the long run after you pay the core charge and pay to have the core pan modified you would come out saving about $100.00-$150.00 buying the brand new Holley or Mast pan in the first place. Amazon carries the Holley pan for around $380.00 with free shipping.

I tried it in my 71 but ran into an issue where the front of the pan hit my crossmember. That is because my motor is really low in the car compared to most people.
Based on my measurements, it hang the same distance below my crossmember as my old Morosso SBC pan did. I never hit anything with it...

I have seen the CTS-V pans for $295 shipped. I read the oil pan sticky, but it was not enough and I wanted to see if people had recent fitment issues. Before I pull the trigger on the CTS-V can we all agree that it is similar to the MAST and Holley as far as how low it hangs? Say 6 3/4 inches pan depth.

I agree with the CTS-V being close to the Holley. I have all three pans.. CTS-V is just a bit deeper that the Holley, but not by much.
Back when I did my swap. I picked up two early CTS-V pan.. I used one in my Chevelle and sold one to Phil @ BRP.
The pans were a take off from two crate engine that Roy Birzio picked up for two Rod projects. But the pan were hanging two low. They took them off and replaced them with
F-Body pans. I was able to re-purchase them from from the Caddy deal that Roy was working through.. But it was a lot cheaper than $300 back then.. I think they were just under $200 cause I sold the one to Phil for $225 shipped IIRC. I am pretty sure he used it to model one of his BRP kit with it.

Thanks for the input guys. I am pretty much sold on the CTS-V and it saves me $100+ over the Holley. Car is not going to be slammed but it will be on 2" drop spindles.
chvz99 can you procure a link for the site you bought the pan from? I want to order it and have it drilled for the oil drain back.
Thanks again gents.

The fit and quality of the Holley pan is great. Check out Autopartsway.com. They have the Holley pan for $319.00 with free shipping. Part number 302-1 that's where I got mine.
