Default using lt1 block for lsx mock up?

So I won't be able to get my lm7 motor until late May but I want to start tinkering now. My buddy has a bare lt1 block/heads that I can borrow. Would this be a waste of time? I already have the 4l60e.

The swap is going in an old bmw so there aren't any stock reference points to measure as if I was doing a camaro swap or anything.

Thanks.

I'm not certain, but it's my understanding that the mounts are in the wrong place, so it would be a waste of time

The ls engines and lt engines have zero in common other than bore spacing and pushrods. Just be patient and wait for the right parts.

Ok, that's the general consesus I was getting through search but I wanted to make sure others weren't swapping cross members and what not for different reasons.

If anyone knows of a used foam block for sale let me know, I can't realy justify getting a new one.
