Default LS1 200sx SWAP question's :)

HOWDY u lot

i am just starting my journey with LS..... engines

I am about to buy a LS1 with T56 box ( front "GTO" Sump ) engine, and willing to put it into 240sx ( s13/s14 body ) - and have LOADS of questions

1. are there any differences between the 97 LS1 and 2000+ LS1 ??
2. when buying a swap - do i need to worry about "throttle position controller" to start the car in s-body ??
3. what do i need to have it all runing??? ( working engine / T56 / loom with all sensors / ECM ). is that it ( i'll have the loom custom made ) ??
4. where to look for the Engine/box combo ?? ebay ?? can't see the forum trading part

when i'll know all the above ( and all the next one's i'll come up with ) i'll start on adding power on paper cheers guys.

While I'm just a lurker, I'll say for some of your basic questions, you need to either read the STICKY threads, or at least do a search. Spend a little bit of time looking on your own and you'll find everything has been covered several times over. Also, check out "silviav8forums" for more specifics and builds related to your 240. Good luck, if it weren't for all the projects I have going on at the house, I'd be looking for a 240 to do a swap with.

First where are you from calling a T56 trans a box?

You can find most of the info you're looking through searching, but here's some iinfo
97 ls1's have egr

not sure when it started but 2002 ls1's don't have egr, and come with ls6 intake, and can be bored more than the 98 ls1,

As far as making it run in a 240 just gets someone to turn the VATS off,

Got my LS1/T56/ecu/harness after Katrina hit new orleans, fairly cheap,
