Default 99-04 Mustang shifter with 4L60e

I have a New edge (99-04) dash in my 93 Fox mustang. I am in the process of my LM7 swap and I have purchased the correct automatic shifter to use with my console. Didnt go with an aftermarket because I like the factory look and fit. My question is: Has anyone used this shifter with any luck on a 4L60e? I have a PRND21 shift pattern. Not the typical GM PRN(D)D21 detent. Is that going to cause an issue? And how did you install it to work with the lever on the trans? Cable or did you use a rod of some type?

Thanks in advance!

Charlie

I used the stocker in my swap. I just welded a washer on the end of the cable "arm" that attaches to the lever on the trans. Then I drilled out the ball stud on the trans lever, welded in a screw and used double nuts to lock down the cable "arm" on the screw without pinching it and making it bind up.

I did not use the GM selector switch, I went with the Dakota Digital unit. Hope this helps. If I can clear up anything just PM me.

I used the factory shifter in my 97 Thunderbird which is similar to the Mustang unit. I didn't take pictures but I modified the GM shifter arm a bit and used the GM sensors. Works fine but I set it up so I don't have first available on the shifter which doesn't bother me since the car is my daily driver.
