Default LQ9 or LQ4 + 243 + Z06 cam?

Hi Guys, I just got 68 Firebird AT with 350 in it, Can you help me which block is a good combo for my project?

New 243 heads, Z06 cam and walbro fuel pump still in my garage left from forgotten project.

I got a 68 ragtop with a 350 also. I ordered a lq4/4l80e for mine, I got the combo off of ebay for 1900. It is a full lift out with everything. I'm going to go 408 to start with, then put a turbo on her.

You can sell me your 243s .

Its kind of up to you and depends on what you are trying to do. If you are working on a tight budget then a LQ9 or LQ4 would be good pics IMOP. Of course there are some good deals on here right now for some Long block LS6 motors as well.

LQ9 & a LQ4 are identical other than the LQ9 got 10:1 compression and the LQ4 has 9.5:1 compression. I vote LQ9. With those LS6 heads & LS6 cam it should run very well and sound stock.
