e40 ECM DBW -> DBC?

e40 ECM DBW -> DBC? I've searched and there elevnty billion threads on this but none that I found that address my specific engine.
E40 ECM, currently DBW, '05 SSR LS2 engine, intake, and TB.
I gave DBW a fair chance and just can't stand the delay. Coming from a cable-driven rig it is absolutely annoying and border-line dangerous for the type of off-roading that I do.
Can I convert to cable using my ECM? If so, what TB do I need? Can I just take out the APP codes in my tune or do I have to go to a new OS?
