Default Unknown GM help

Hi all I have what I believe is a GM vortec engine in a GQ Nissan patrol. I am having great difficulty finding out what this engine is as I have only recently purchased the car and previous owners told me it was an LS1.. After finding alot of parts do not interchange with an LS1 I have done some research an found the engine is identical to a GM vortec. I now have an engine number and was hoping someone on here could tell me what the engine is exactly? As I need a new clutch..
engine number is:
Y2R316530

Any help would be great!!

Thanks matt

3 digit casting number on the corner of the cylinder heads? Can you see any casting marks on the passenger side(because I assume its RHD) on the block itself. It will be tucked in behind the front drive accessories. pictures of the engine would be helpful. Can you stick a magnet and have it stick to the cylinder head? What about the block itself?

Few quick questions...:

1) is it an Iron or Alum Block
2) what is casted into the block for it size (4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, etc..)
3) What is the casting number on the head (241, 817, etc.)
4) what is the distants of the Balancer from the Block.. (Vette, F-body, Truck, etc)

those answers might allow us to take a better guess without any pictures.

Just by going on the first post, I would guess it a standard small block Chevy. Not LS.
