What r/e gears for my conversion?
My 67 fbird just got a facelift of a Ls1 and T56 Transmission. The bird came with a two speed column shift and a 326. What has to happen to the reared? I'm new to this area of the car so any help would greatly be appreciated.

Take a look at what the donor car had for gears.. (3.42 was pretty must standard for most of the performance ordered cars).
I would suggest mid 3.55's to a 3.73 for good around (performance and milage) The over drive transmission will allow you to go a bit lower if you want (4.10's) and still be ok on the highway.
If your looking for a lot of curising.. 3.08's - mid 3's.. but that all depends on what you want out of the car.. !??
my 2 cents.

i'm thinking 3.73 to have fun around town and be comfortable on the highway especially with the O.D.. Do I need to make it posi and if so what has to be done? what are the pluses and minuses with posi?
