Not sure if I am going to keep the current alternator location or move it. I just need to get the old motor out. Today was a wash due to some errands I had to do and then some severe thunderstorms. Tomorrow will not be much better as I have to help a friend with his SS and do some tuning. Hopefully this weekend I will have the old motor out and get the new subframe installed and my plastic block in place. Cage and transmission should have both shipped today! Mike @ Jake's gave me a ring to say the new 4L80 is going on the dyno today!

The QA1 subframe with UPR solid motor mounts and LS conversion adapters. Hopefully if the rain is not bad this weekend I can get some stuff knocked out.

Ok, not really exciting, but necessary none the less, the old motor and transmission are pulled and gone.

My friend Redneck Eddie giving me a hand with everything. Thanks Eddie!

Ordered it custom from Kilduff Machine. I wanted a better handle and the console a little different. I think it turned out quite nice. We will see when I get everything bolted in, but it feels pretty freaking cool.

I have heard of them, but picked up upr solid mountss already as well as a qa1 tubular k member. About the only things left to grab are the rear suspension, driveshaft, fuel lines and misc bolts.

I am hoping to start putting the motor together this weekend. The 4 cylinder rear end came out last night and got the old 4 banger, 5 speed and rear diff sold. I just have to finish getting the old k member out and it will be time to start slapping in all the new stuff!

I have not updated in a few, so I figured I would share a little progress. Cage going in.

Couple update pics, cage is all but done, still have to weld the D bars to the now installed UPR full length subframe connectors, weld in the sill bars and the passenger side door bar. Driver's side swingout is done and turned out quite nice. It fits perfect on the door.

Also got the AJE k member in and a mock up block in there for now to help determine manifold selection and verify oil pan fitment. GM swap pan fits right in there although it does hang down about 1.5" past the k member. I can live with it for now though.

Not a ton to update. Big thanks to Freeman for giving me a hand by installing an alarm on the car. I have had some odd things and people around lately and getting a tad paranoid. But between the home security/camera system and a very nice alarm I am feeling much better.

Car has the cage done, paint on the underbody and engine compartment. Next step will be getting the engine and trans in the car so I can start on the turbo kit. My friend Matt is also going to give me a major hand soon by getting it painted! I just need to pick a color out and get a front fender.
