Default need advice please someone help

ok so i recently picked up a cheap 84 gt turbo fox body even though im a gm guy i love the fox bodies. i found a ad on craigslist for a ls6 and t56 for $3800 was said to come out of a 05 vett with low miles. id love to do the swap and they say anything is possible but what worries me is the wiring and what all is needed in the swap. Im currenty a wyotech student (which by the way is a joke the commercials LIE!!!!!) and not alot of money floating around. id like to do maybe a single turbo. what do yall think? anyone done this? how hard is it? i know i will have to have a aftermarket k member and all that good stuff any advice is help thanks

Better be VERY low, and documented miles for that price. And should also come with the computer, wiring harness, gas pedal and FEAD (water pump, alternator, power steering pump). Wiring is not that difficult and new "stand alone" ones can be had affordably if you decide its too much of a hassle. lt1swap.com has TONS of info on how to mod your harness yourself. Search the site and you'll find out that the Fox mustangs are probably the most swap vehicle.

I may be mistaken but don't the vetts still use the torque tube setup? If so the tranny will need to be converted to a regular tail shaft also.

The vette T56 is a transaxle, not practical to convert to a standard trans.

yea i believe they were all transaxle setups, if not then someones giving you one out of a camaro, but for 3800 it better come with a harness, but its not that hard once u get into it, ive done two swaps now and ill do another as soon as i can find something to do it to lol

Id be a big suspect of the for sale ad. No LS6 offered in Vette in 05. CTS V was the only way to get an LS6 in 2005. The V did have the traditional trans bolted to engine application, but it used a unique version of the T56. Not a deal breaker, but will make certain things a little tougher to find.

Well it looks like a regular t56 so it'll work and I've been reading but not finding any info on the wiring because I don't have the money currently to buy a painless kit unless y'all know where I can get a decently priced one or know someone who builds harnesses

Well, first you need to know what reluctor the motor has. Look at the crank sensor and tell us the color of it. It's either black or gray. You will need to know what the motor has before ordering a harness.

If it has new head gaskets I would want to know why they were replaced.

that is a lot of money for that set up.

If the crank reluctor is black then it is a 24x motor. You can run a camaro/firebird or Drive by Cable Vortec Truck harness. We have them if you are interested.
