Last weekend I finally started moving again on my 67 camaro. I installed the Tanks Inc new tank system. I could not be more pleased with the tank!! I was waiting for a long time to find a tank that would meet my needs and my budget and this one is it. Here is a picture of the tank. It comes completely powder coated and is a very quality piece that is powder coated inside and out. I called Tanks Inc and spoke with Georgia and Jason several times and they are both very knowledgeable and willing to help. Here is the tank:

The tank pump comes with a nice vent and brass fittings for supply and return. Here is a pic of all the goodies:

The instructions that come with the fuel pump assembly are very basic but more than adequate. Step 1 is measuring the depth of the tank. Then you follow the instructions and trim the supply and return line to specs. Here is a pic of the tank depth:

This is what the fuel pump assembly will look like after you trim and attach the lines. You also need to zip tie the pump to the return line and attach the sock. Very basic and simple stuff.

This is what the fuel sender will look like when trimmed. The instructions with the sender are very detailed and easy to follow:

All the gaskets come with the fuel pump assembly and sender. The instructions said to use indian shellac gasket sealer, but I choose to go with permatex aviation gasket #3 as it does not dry hard like the shellac. You apply that to both sides of the gaskets and then fasten the pump and sender in the tank. At this point, you will see in the next pic I marked the supply and return side with marker on the brass fittings. I also should mention I marked the positive and negative for the pump and sender before I installed them in the tank. You will also notice the 1/4 npt to 3/8 hose barb on the return side (since there is very little pressure) and the 1/4 npt to -6 AN fitting (summit part #FRA-481606). I also use the permatex on the threads of the npt to AN adapter on the npt threads only (the ones that screw into the brass fitting)

Here you will see the Wix filter/regulator (summit part #WIX-33737) and the fittings needed to make the connections. The brass is a 5/16 compression to a 3/8 hose barb that I made up at my local hardware store for the return line. The supply is a russell quick connect fuel fitting (RUS-644123) with a straight AN -6 fitting. On the outlet side, it is the Russell fuel rail adapter fitting (RUS-640940) and then a straight -6 AN fitting.

You will want to connect all of your lines on the ground before you try and put the tank up in place. Be sure to label all the wires so you don't have to trace or guess later.

I tried to get a picture here of the clearance. This pic is kind of deceiving as there is plenty of room. Not enough to connect or disconnect anything, but definitely not cramping anything.

This pic shows the way I secured the lines with self tapping screws and used insulated steel hose clamps. I did not take pics of me putting the tank in place but one recommendation I would make is to use spray adhesive and stick the strap liners to the straps with it. This way you are not fighting with the liners trying to bunch up and move around on you.

Here is the finished product!! Major upgrade to the factory tank in looks. Works perfect so far and is quiet. The other thing you will need is the filler neck to tank hose and clamps. I reused my clamps, but I went to oreilly and picked up a Gates hose (part #23932). They sell it by the foot and it cost 7.99 for 12inches. You will only need about 4 inches.

I would definitely give Tanks Inc a call. They might be developing one. They are always coming out with new applications.

It was brought to my attention that Tanks Inc does sell the tank to filler neck hose under part #GH-2 for $10. That makes the setup a total one stop shop!!
