Default LS1 Daytona Coupe finally on the dyno

I installed a pullout from a 2003 Vette and installed it in my Factory Five Daytona Coupe. I finally worked out all the major problems with the engine install and was comfortable getting a final dyno tune. Today I took the car out to Omer's (STL Tuners) and did about 8 dyno runs.

We only found about 10 HP at the peak but picked up 70 ft lbs at 2500 rpm. It was running very rich with the stock tune. The amazing thing is the engine made 350 HP at the wheel! That is what the engine was rated at the crank in 2003 and was a full 50 HP more than I expected. That means the engine is making around 400 HP at the crank. I really am shocked at the numbers it put down. The engine is completely stock except for intake and exhaust.

Here is a pic of the before and after tune but not the final run:

Love your car. and its great seeing another kit car on here, I thought i was alone.

Those are some pretty stout numbers, that thing should fly.

Thanks, it is good to see some kit cars doing the LS swap. I am looking forward to seeing yours done!

I have not had it on the scale since the swap, but based on my math it is just under 2300 lbs with race tires. My goal is to get down around 2200 and get the power to 450 at the wheel.

Currently it spins in 1st and 2nd and finally hooks in 3rd on street tires. The R compounds are soft enough to hook it up in 1st. I run the Hankook C71 compound. I am looking to go to 13" wide Hoosiers for next year.

When are going to be done with yours????

Ive no schedule. I just keep plugging away. I am a TOTAL noob. Never done a frame off, a conversion, or a kit car, and now I am doing a conglomerate of all three... But I am secretly hoping to be done by spring.
