Help lt1 to ls1 alt wiring!!!!!!! Hi guys I have a 96 trans am swaped a 5.3 into it and a 1998 ls1 wire harness. Im trying to wire up the alt right now were do I send the red pig tail wire to? I tried searching

you didnt search very hard did you? Go look at some build threads that have swapped LS motors into early F bodies. The red wire for the alternator goes to the PCM figure out what wire is for the exciter and thats where it goes. It should be in your harness already

should have got an 00-02 harness, then you should have unplugged your LT harness from the firewall, and either spliced them in witht he LT connectors, or repined the Ls harness to the LT connectors....

He did it right getting the 98 harness so he doesnt have to use the BCM for the temp guage to read correct. If he wants to use the 99+ PCM all he has to do is repin the harness which is just a quick search away...
