I might, but the shipping would be from California. When the car was being wet sanded some small amount got on the drivers side seat. I have not tried to remove it.

No problem, they would be recovered anyway. Grey hound is a cheap way to ship items like this. If you decide to sale please let me know first. No real rush, I am still trying to use my bench seat but it has to be moved way back to fit me and might make getting in the back seat impossible even for my grand kids so I am starting to consider buckets and the 60's buckets look right at home in the 50's shoe boxes.

I will let you know. It might be 4 months or so off. I have to make some mounting brackets for the new GTO seats which I am currently doing. It is not going to be as straight forward as the 1966 and later cars are regarding the bolt holes in the floor. I had to add the inside holes/nuts that were missing from the bench seat arrangement.

Also I have to keep in mind about not getting the seat too high as I don't want my head in the headliner. It is all going to work out and I will post how I am going to do it for others who might be in the same situation.

Some good news. The car is back home. I downloaded the VVT delete files and changed the fan settings. I finally figured out how to do the fan settings.

The plan is to put some miles and it and make an appointment for another dyno tune. I am currently working on new seat brackets so that the 2004 GTO seats will bolt in. I may take some photos as mine are a little different than the later A-bodies.

good news! Who does your tuning? Did I remember you are in Southern California?

I'm in North San Diego with a stock L92 and 6L80 in my '51 Ford pickup and looking for a good recommendation.

I used Cunningham Motorsports in Murrieta. That is up the I15 from San Diego. I was very satisfied with the results. He did wonders with the 6L80 transmission tune.

Curious, did you do just one tune for the 6L80? I've heard you can use the Drive detent for one and another detent, for a Sport setting. I don't need Tap Up / Tap Down like the vettes.

Yes that is true. However on my car both are the same. I have the Corvette tune so if I decide to use the TUTD feature it will be easy to do. Right now I am using a column shift but might transfer to a floor shift as it appears I have the room to do so. I did not think I would with floor console I am using and the under dash A/C unit.

I have been driving the car around some today to build up the miles. What I find interesting is that the drive-ability of car is not bad at all considering the changes that were made. The displacement increased 51 cubic inches. The camshaft went from a VVT 231/239 with a LSA of 113 +4 to a non VVT 238/244 with a LSA of 114 +3. Compression went from around 10.5 to 11.4. I feel real confident about driving the car out to Murrieta for the dyno tune. Another load off of my mind.

Just read your entire thread, great work and progress... I will have to bookmark this for future reference. The recovered front GTO seats came out GREAT! I'd have to say, of all the cars I've owned, or ridden in, my old 04 GTO had the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in.

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on an 09 G8 GT L76/6L80 dropout for my 72 Chevelle... I may be bouncing some questions off you.

No problem. Sounds like you have a nice build coming up. By the way those 4" diameter x 6" radius bends I bought from you are working out just fine for my cold air intake.

I saw that, looks like you did a great job with it, along with everything else on your car.

Just bought the L76/6L80 dropout... I hope I'm not in over my head with this...

You will be just fine.

Here is a picture of me fitting in the GTO power seat assembly and making sure I have my seat adapters right. Naturally I don't. I was estimating and not having the car in hand was a gamble as I did not want to wait. Most of it will work though. I will just have to make up two more plates. No biggy. I think I am on plan C. Here is the picture.

I had to go to extra efforts to get my seats low enough in the car. Will those seats sit low enough with all that hardware under them?

You are right in your thoughts. Others have installed the seats with no problem in their A-bodies. I am keeping the brackets to a minimum height wise and I think I will not use any for the front after further thought.

I like how your car turned out with the new camshaft. Congratulations on the 10 second pass. I don't know if I will be able to get there. These seats will add some pounds and will not be helping any. Then again I like the comfort.

Good to hear. Both my stock bench and my Pro-Car seats always sat too high. I am only 5-11 yet my head was only an inch away from the headliner. Now that I have lowered my seats, it just feels right. The car is actually more enjoyable to drive now.

Update: I have installed the 2004 GTO front bucket seats in my 65 Skylark. They fit real good. Plenty of room. I am 6" 1", 245 lbs and I have plenty of room including head clearance. These are 8 way adjustable with a lumbar adjustment. The first thing I noticed is that I now have plenty of leg room.

I tried to keep the brackets as low as possible and still have the mechanism clear the floor. As to the wiring, I ran separate 12 guage wires from a fuse box I had under the hood that had a couple of spares. I also used a 30 amp fuse for each which may be a little high. For the gound I just ran it to one of the bolts that holds the seat to the floor. Made for a real easy installation.

Next up is I have to look into installing the GTO rear seat. No rush with this as the color matching is not bad with the current set up. I took some pictures but the sun was not right for good ones but here are a couple anyways.

The recovered GTO seats look amazing installed in the car... Looks like they may have killed the leg room in the rear seat though? I'm thinking the GTO rear seat may be a little on the narrow side, but I imagine the center section between the buckets could be widened to take up the space before getting recovered... If you succeed in getting the GTO rear seat installed and looking good, I may just have to follow suit... IIRC, I don't think any GTO's came with factory heated seats did they? Boy that would be bad *** to get some heat in them.

I am not aware of a heated seat option. If I had passengers in the rear I would move the seat forward a couple of inches. That would probably put it where it was before the change. These are not as wide as the factory seats. I think your 72 is a wider car you would have a wide selection of seats that would fit with some of the upscale versions being heated.
