Default Any one using Team Z Kmember and mounts LSX fox mustang?

Hey Guys. I just bought a Team Z kmember and team Z ls mounts for my 93 mustang coupe. The engine going in is a 5.3 carbed with a 2001 ss camaro oil pan and A powerglide tranny. I am having a problem with the motor mounts, I have bolted them onto the engine every which way, but the k member is still hitting the fbody pan. Is anyone else using this setup? I do not know if I am installing the engine mounts wrong or what? The mounts came with no markings on them and no instructions or anything at all. Any help is appreciated.

That would be great, are you running a stock fbody pan? Thanks

Hey, Superbean I have tried the mounts every which way. The engine is still on the stand,so it is easy to try a different position of the mounts. The main problem is kmember to fbody pan clearance. I drilled a new hole in one of the motor mount pieces which will move the engine back some, the only problem is, doing that may mess with firewall clearance and header clearance.

Stock Fbody pan will not work. Pulled the fbody pan off and put the deep sump truck pan back on, truck pan does not hang down but 1.5" below the rack mounts, so I will just run the truck pan.

I'm using a moroso pan (part number 20141) it's tight but there is about 1/4' clearnace between the k-member and the front of the sump but the pan does not hang down below the k-member any. (still have to remove the stock exhaust this weekend)

I'm going through the same problem. The mounts are labeled in no way. I had to call Team Z to get pics. I haven't mocked it back up yet tho.

Thanks a ton for the pics, That is how I have had my mounts bolted together. A stock fbody pan just will not work.

Mine weren't labeled either and made it a huge pain, hopefully they are on right as that is the only way i could get the motor bolted in but, With them positioned that way one of the bolt that hold the sbc mount and adapter plate together I couldn't use, Due to the bolt was hitting the block and wouldnt let me tighten the motor mount up all the way and made it impossible to get the motor in the car.

Yeah I had to grind the head of the bolt down at a angle {because i did not want to gring on the block} to get that bolt in there.

Thats what I was planning to do also but, motor will be coming back out at some point when I do the body work so for now I left the bolt out and will fix it when its time for final assembly.

Any updates on this. My truck oil pan is hitting the k member right where it arches up from the sump.

I also didn't get any directions other than the flat plates had a writing on them saying left and right so I called today and Dave said they have never actually had an engine bolted in with them ???

WTF. I think maybe the k member was designed around a SBC and the adapter motor mounts were an after thought. As evidenced by the block having to be clearanced to get the 2nd top bolt in. ...

yes, my car is running. I am running a 2002 5.3 with the stock truck pan, f-body pan will not work with the team z k member. It is just a SBC k member with adapter mounts, but it worked out good for me except the fbody pan issue.

Im having this same issue. Did you just use the stock truck pan or did you also use adjustable adapter mounts aside from the ls1 swap mounts team z offers?
