Default Installed autometer electric speedo trans quit shifting

Lsxfox 5.3/4l60e

Autometer electric speedo hasn't worked for a while but trans was perfect.

Called autometer they told me to tap into the positive side of the 2 wires that go to the vss plug, did what they said speedo started working. Take off to calibrate it and it wouldn't shift to second, then after 1/4 throttle went into like neutral even though I was still in gear.

What happened?!?!?

I'm kinda freaking out here

the wire that you hooked from the trans to the speedo ... does that wire have power coming out from the speedo?

There was a wire from the ecu to speedo, had it hooked up a while ago just didn't know to calibrate. I hooked this wire up and calibrated and it fixed everything

Don't connect straight to the VSS. Use the pcm output.

I agree. My Autometer speedo screwed my trans shifting up too. Called Autometer and they told me to put a reesistor in line of the speedo signal, made it a little better but not right. After that I did what they said wouldn't work, hooked it to the PCM speedo output and set it for 4000 ppm and it works perfectly.

That's hat solved my issues, dip **** me didn't remember to calibrate the first time. I figured it would read atleast something when first hooked up but no needle didn't move at all, that's why I figured that wire wouldn't work
